Anita Renwick, BSA, PAg

Agronomist/Owner

I was born and raised on a mixed cattle and grain farm in Southwest Manitoba where I learned the ropes of the Agriculture Industry firsthand. I have a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Agronomy and a minor in Agribusiness from the University of Saskatchewan.

I decided to start A1 Agronomy because I know that growers who are interested in maximizing the yield on their acres are looking for unbiased advice. Rather than take a blanket approach to farming, they want plans that allocate costs where they will yield positive returns in both the short and long term.

Brittany Riddell

Sales & Precision Agronomy Specialist

I grew up on a mixed farm south of Melita. I graduated from Assiniboine Community College with an Agribusiness Diploma before furthering my career with companies such as Cargill and Paterson in the Elva, Pierson and Melita areas.

There are so many things you can’t control when it comes to farming. That means it is super important to control the things you can. It takes more than a “one size fits all” strategy when it comes to the decision of where to invest money to maximize yield, and I am committed to providing our customers with the valuable information they deserve to make great decisions.

Jayden Jewar

Junior Precision Agronomy Specialist

I grew up on a grain farm near Oak River, Manitoba, where my family continues to farm today. That background shaped my interest in agriculture and led me to earn a diploma in Precision Agriculture; Techgronomy from Olds College in Alberta.

My experience with Enns and Cargill has allowed me to work across multiple sides of the industry, building a strong foundation in crop production and agronomic decision making. I enjoy spending time in the field scouting and sampling just as much as I enjoy working in the office on prescriptions and blends.

I was drawn to A1 Agronomy for its practical, producer focused approach that puts customers’ goals and values first. I believe there is no single best way to farm, only the best approach for each individual farm and field.

Breanne Perreault

Junior Precision Agronomy Specialist

I grew up in Brandon, Manitoba, and spent a lot of my time on my grandparents' grain and cattle farms. That's where my passion for agriculture began. I loved being outdoors, helping around the farm, and learning about agriculture from an early age.

I recently graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. I started my career in small-plot research, where I gained hands-on experience with field trials and crop production. After graduating, I joined A1 Agronomy as a Precision Agronomist because I wanted to work more closely with producers and help them make practical, informed decisions on their farms.

What drew me to A1 Agronomy was its commitment to putting farmers first and recognizing that every operation is different. I enjoy building relationships with producers, understanding their goals, and working together to find solutions that fit their operation. Every farm is unique, and I believe the best recommendations are the ones that are tailored to each producer's needs.

Julia Penning

Summer Student

My name is Julia Penning, and I’m a summer agronomy student with A1 Agronomy. I am going into my fifth year of my Bachelor of Science degree as an Agronomy major at the University of Manitoba.

Originally, I am from Winnipeg but came out to Melita after graduating high school to work with my uncle on his cattle operation and learn what a farmer’s life is like first-hand. I have been able to gain experience in multiple aspects of agriculture through working with WADO as a summer student focusing on small plot research.

With A1 Agronomy I hope to continue learning and to help farmers through my experience and give back to the community that has introduced me into the industry with open arms.

Leigha Kristof

Summer Student

Growing up in Reston, Manitoba, I was surrounded by agriculture with many of my friends' families farming. Being around that environment from a young age gave me such appreciation for the industry and those that keep it running.

I discovered my passion for Agronomy very early during university, making my switch from nutrition to Agronomy within the first two months. It quickly became very clear that this is the career path that I wanted to pursue. I’m currently working towards my Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from the University of Manitoba, with a minor in soil science.

I was drawn to A1 Agronomy because of their commitment to building strong relationships with their clients and its independent, third-party approach. I value being able to provide unbiased advice based on what's best for each farm, rather than promoting specific products.
